Laboratory Techniques: Diagnostic Wax-Ups

Diagnostic wax-ups enable the technician to create a mock-up of the predicted end result, of a dental restorative scheme.

It is achieved by melting adaptable wax over a Bunsen burner, which can then be sculpted onto a model to form an achievable end result. We use Amir Dentin Creawax from Tricodent.

The finished mock-up can be used to formulate a treatment plan, and to gain approval from the patient prior to commencement.
