Due to advances in technology, we are now able to mill, on or off site, ceramic substructures and 'CAD Wax' patterns (for metal alloy casting), using two of the latest CAD/CAM systems: the Nobel Biocare Procera system, and the Sirona inLab system.
The CAD/CAM process involves five main steps:
1. Scanning prepared models to acquire their 3D digital image.
2. Perform 3D digital sculpting on a computer.
3. Milling (ceramic ingots). On or off site.
4. Firing (on or off site).
5. Passing the substructure on for the final porcelain build-up.
This technique offers precise, strong and aesthetically pleasing results using the very latest in material development.
Using the Nobel Biocare Procera CAD/CAM system, technicians can scan preparations in the lab before sending the resultant data off to be milled in Sweden.
From Sirona comes the inLab CAD/CAM system. Its user friendly interface enables our technicians to create a wide range of products from inlays, onlays and crowns, to multiple-unit bridges and pattern making.
